I was curious if Lenovo makes a cover or blank filter that can be put inside the ultrabay for the T400 if I were to sometimes remove the optical drive to shave off a bit of weight? I know the drive itself only weighs about .3 lbs but I was just wondering.

    Thanks.

they have it cause some systems can opt out of optical drives before or if not, they certainly will have it cause the ultrabase uses ultrabay slim also and you can certainly buy ultrabase without a drive. goto the specs page and find the FRU or you can call the techs and ask and then ask to be transferred to ibm parts. it is most probably going to be a complete ripoff price though for a slab of plastic.
