My T400's fan is dying (it started making very loud noises), so I decided to replace it, but I have a couple questions:

    1. There is silver tape and some kind of sponge-like material holding the fan into the heat sink assembly. Is this a special kind of tape? Where can I get more of this tape and sponge? It looks like both the tape and the sponge are heat resistant, since they're so close to the place where hot air blows out. I think if I use Scotch tape it will melt lol.

    2. I lost a lot of thermal paste/glue (I don't really know what it's called; I just know it's that sticky stuff) when taking out the heat sink and fan, so I'll need to apply some when installing the new fan. Does anyone know what type of thermal paste/glue the T400 uses? Is there maybe a type that works better than the default one? I don't mind paying a bit more if there's a more effective product.

    Thanks!
