After I installed Win 7 professional 64 bit the green status indicators, which appear on the screen when you change the volume or use the FN key to change the brightness, are gone. The volume buttons work but no green status indicators. The FN keys work too but without the green status indicators when I change the brightness. However, the mute button does not work at all. Same goes for the ThinkVantage button, when I press it nothing happens.
Is someone having similar troubles?

Did you install the thinkvantage hotkey utility. Install it through system update 4 which should provide for the Win 7 version.
-
Yeah I think so. I installed this driver...
Still doesn't work. -
Hmmm...what other drivers have been installed? All I did to get the OSD was to install the lenovo system interface drivers( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67228) hotkey utility from sys update(which should be the same as the one you have) plus installed the Win 7 switchable drivers and finally updated to bios ver. 3.09.

Thank you so much for this. I installed the lenovo system interface driver, now I've got the green status indicators working and the mute button works
But what does the blue ThinkVantage button really do? When I press it nothing happens. Is it only suppose to be used during startup when the computer is booting up? -
Its supposed to open thinkvantage productivity center but lenovo is dropping support for it with Win 7 and I believe that its going to be replaced with another application. You can still install and use the Vista ver. of the productivity center but its not going to be officially supported.
EDIT: See this blog post about the list of thinkvantage utilities which are going to be ported over to Win 7 or are going to be dropped...

Ok, thanks for this info.
But you wouldn't happen to know what driver I need for the PCI Simple Communicaton Controller? I get a yellow exclamation mark on it when I open Device Manager... -
hargo: That's for Intel AMT. If you run System Update and allow it to install the driver for that, the yellow exclamation mark should go away.

Alright. Where can I find the System Update in Win 7?
Sorry about my lack of knowledge, I'm still adjusting to the Win 7 tools and utilities
-
Start->All Programs->Thinkvantage->System Update.
-
I only get Rescue and Recovery when I do that.
Start - All Programs - ThinkVantage - Rescue and Recovery
No system update option. Am I forgetting to install some software? -
Oh so you havent installed it yet. In that case download & install system update 4 (Win 7 only) from here...
