My T400 came with a Fujitsu 160GB harddrive. I'm not sure how fast it is, but I want to replace it with a larger capacity harddrive. Any recommendations?

I prefer WD drives. I also prefer 7200RPM drives as my main/OS drives, if not an SSD. This is the largest capacity 7200rpm drive by WD.

Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Black WD5000BEKT 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive

If you drop down to 5400rpm you can get upto 640GB drives for similar prices. Hitachi is good. I've had mixed results with Samsung Spinpoint drives, and I don't buy Seagate or Maxtor based of my previous experiences. But that's my behavior, doesn't say anything about their drives as a whole.

Mine came with 160Gb 7200 Hitachi drive, which while not sluggish doesnt feel snappy either.
I think I will upgrade to Momentus XT or WD Scorpio Black max capacity as OS drive in nearest future. IF Intel releases their new SSD's with higher capacities and much lower price, then I might jump to that one next year.
Oh and probably WD Scorpio Blue max capacity as ultrabay enhanced drive :D
That should be enough for all my needs and backup possibilities.
