I just bought a T400 and I notice there is a hissing noise coming from the laptop.. it is not the hard disk and not the fan because the hissing doesn't start until I logon to Windows..I dnt know how to explain it but its annoying as hell..anybody had this issue or know how can I resolve it.. the bios is updated

I have 1 month ( onsite warranty) dunno if changing the motherboard will fix it

Well if the "hissing" is not caused by something that moves like the hard drive or the cd drive, then what else is capabble of it?
Maybe disable the sound device and see if that stops it.

I hear snakes hate windows. ;>

LOL , I think it is called Penryn CPU whine..I read that if I disable the power management from the BIOS it will go..which I did.. the hissing reduced but I still have to test it..I think it is caused by change of current

EDIT : This is what is causing all the hissing ..
