Was using my T400 (as I am now), when it beeped at me...i should have written this thread immediately after it happened because I forgot the sequence. I think it might have been short short long but I am not very confident in that. It repeated itself. I know that is really no info at all, sorry.

I was using it normally, browsing the internet. Windows hasn't been restarted in a while so I am going to do that, but in general what do beeps like that mean?

You can turn off those beeps in the BIOS. It normally beeps when you unplug it, plug it in, get a low battery, go to standby, or hit 4+ keys simultaneously (key rollover). These annoyed me pretty quickly, so I turned them all off (except key rollover, I don't think that one can be disabled).

Alternatively, if it happened when turning your computer on, it could have been a BIOS POST code. These are a code for what is wrong with your computer (e.g. no keyboard detected, bad memory, etc.). However, this wouldn't happen in Windows.
