First of all , sorry for my bad english =)

Hi, I've got serious problem concerning eye strain . I've got a t400 with an LG philips LEd screen , it seems to be flickering when not a maximum brightness. The flickerings increase when i lower the brightness. It's not that much visible , but i feel it , it's a little bit like a CRT.

It causes me some headache, and eye strain specially on my left eye =/, even at maximum brightness ( which is too bright for common use ).

When i switch to my desktop with LCd or my old HP laptop => no problems. (They're both with CCFL backlight).

May i ask lenovo to replace the screen ?! Or replace the t400 with one without the LED screen .

    Thanks a lot.

i have noticed that some people can see the led flicker but most cannot

have a few friends look at it to confirm the flicker and call up lenovo. if your friends cannot see it, you might be part of the super minority that always seem to find LEDs flickering. I've met 2 people in my life that had the issue (one with light bulbs and another with LED backlit LCDs)

if that's the case, you might want to get a CCFL backlit screen instead

Just checking, but do you have a glossy or matte screen?

I also suffer from LED issues (LED brake lights and flashlights give me weird headaches/eye strain), so I was concerned about the T400 LED. I did some research and found that, while there are numerous people out there with problems with laptop LED backlights, all of them seem to have glossy screens (and most of them seem to have the new Macbook Pros.)

If you've got a matte LED and experience problems, it'll be the first I've heard. Interesting. Reinforces my decision to get the TFT backlight on my T400.

    Hi,
    It's a matte screen ( t400 always matte =) ) , but maybe my screen is defective .

I bet you've already tried this but did you try changing the refresh rate?
you can set 50 or 60 with the integrated card
