Above is a thread I started a while back when I first noticed the problem. Recently it has become a serious issue. It makes the chirping sound much more often now. It even makes it when I am not plugged in. I switched to integrated graphics and it still chirped. It is really annoying and I don't want to have to get a new HDD.

Is there any way to fix the chirping?
Is it bad for my computer?
Should I expect my HDD to die? (Is it dieing)

I have a Western Digital Scorpio Black HDD. 320GB @ 7200Rpm. If it matters it only has about 55GB of data on it and I just did a clean install of Win 7 over winter break.
