I plan on getting this configuration:
    ThinkPad T400 - 1 Yr Depot Warranty
    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) 25W
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64
    14.1 WXGA+ TFT, w/ LED Backlight, Camera
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with vPro
    2 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
    UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
160 GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim (Serial ATA)
    6 cell Li-Ion Battery

with the 10% coupon it comes to $765

Will Lenovo be offering better deals or coupons after Black Friday or before christmas or after christmas? or would be ok to just buy now because prices are unlikely to change due to the holidays

The configuration I want will not change over time because I feel like the core i7 processors that are rumored to come in early 2010 will consume too much battery life. The P series from numerous reviews seem to be pretty good and works well with the T400 series.

also i looked at this guys configuration: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=434797

and I am wondering why his comes to $738
he even has the Express Card Slot & 7-1 Media Card Reader
and Intel WiFi Link 5300 (AGN) with My WiFi Technology
but for my configuration without the the card reader and I am going to just get the Intel WiFi Link 5100 ( Can anyone tell me the difference between the 5100 and the 5300) it is slightly more expensive when it should be about $50 cheaper.

Your guess is as good as mine, which I know doesn't help you much, but it's the best anyone can tell you. Lenovo isn't going to share that kind of information with anyone here. Any info you do get is speculation.

the core i5/i7 cpu might, but you have one less northbridge, so i doubt, on the whole, it would consume more electricity
