I noticed this morning that the plastic in the bottom right hand corner of my screen has pulled away, leaving a gap between the chassis and the screen. Has anyone else had this happen to their T400? I've never dropped it or handled it in any sort of rough manner. Funny how thinkpads are known for their "durability".
Anyway, does anyone know how to re-attach the plastic just below the screen? It feels like it's kept on only by adhesive but I can't tell for sure.

    Thanks!

Was there a screen protector in it?

I have never heard of this before.

right there there, next to the hinge, there is a round plastic cover. use a thin screwdriver, or an x-acto knife tip to lift it (glued, comes off easy if you lift right). underneath is a screw. try tightening it, but not too hard.

I have found that one of the 4 screws I need to remove to lift the palmrest was not too tight when they shipped it. Discovered this when I installed ram, and now the left part of the palmrest sits snug.

There should be a small space between the frame and screen on the sides. No glue is ever used to attach a screen to the frame. It's screwed in there. See the bottom round rubber things. Those are screws in behind there.

I think he is talking about the lcd bezel, not how the screen is attached to the frame. Those are screwed and then lightly glued on.

I have this same problem and it looks like it's just a result of the design where there happens to be some extra strain in that part of the bezel. There is some double sided foam tape in there that's supposed to keep it held together but apparently it comes apart on some laptops. If I push mine together it'll stick for a little bit but it always pops apart again.

Yes, the bezel is what I was talking about. My situation seems to be like Llama_R's, where if I push the bezel in it seems to catch as if there is some adhesive but then it pulls off right away. It's actually quite a noticeable gap but I guess i'll have to live with it. In fact, I also have a loose palm rest as indicated by receph. Seems the T400's just aren't built the way old thinkpads were. I had a T40, T41, and T43 and they seemed much more solid. oh well...

I had that problem with my W500 on the front (the area right above the headphone jack, beside the left screen lock). I noticed it within the first week I got the laptop. Luckily, I got it repaired under warranty at a local service provider. Lenovo took 5 weeks to ship a replacement bezel though :(.

well, what I was worried about the new ThinkPad T series build quality is about to happen. I know that it can no way be as good as old ThinkPad series, however its speed of being worn out really suprises and disappoints me :(
