Any estimates?
I'm seriously wondering if it's going to be over 2,000, cos in that case I might as well just get the clunkier T61 or something for only 1,200 with nearly similar specs.

T400 is the equivalent replacement to T61? yes? Then why would it be $2000 if T61 are $1000 right now? Does Lenovo want to loose all of their current T61 customers and market share?
think about it. -
cant be to sure these days, x300 is 2500 for base model, thats quite a jump from the x61
-
I think a lot will depend on the configuration. If you get one with the LED screen, SSD and Blu-Ray drive if they offer one, it'll probably be significantly more expensive. If you get something similar to what's offered now, I'd expect a modest price increase, but nothing major.

Those prices are canadian so take 10-15% off. another site has also posted similar numbers. -
the X300 is 13.3'' and has a newer design with cool features compare to the X61 (12.1'') And if you take out the SSD, the prices will be more similar. -
Yes, but the new T series uses DDR3 SO-DIMMs which I bet will be quite pricey.

I'd expect the T400 price to be similar to the T61 when it first launched. So close to $2000 (CDN) for a nicely spec'd T400. -
