I just purchased the configuration below, because it's a large purchase for me I thought I'd submit it for review. I used CPP and the 5% off Thinkpad coupon as well. After California's taxes (9.25%) and recycling fees, I paid 1296. Is that about as good as it gets as far as the coupons/deals go?

3 year depot warranty w/ accidental damage protection.
Total: 1048.45 including sales tax and shipping, not including recycling fee. -
That's pretty close...the OP had the 3 year warranty on there as well.
-
hmm...does that include the 3 year Accidental damage warranty too? I think that added somewhere around $225 or so, plus tax I believe.
Also, is the "Non-AMT" just omitted from my cut/paste? What is "Non-AMT"? -
Yeah, $225 plus tax is about $245. Roughly, it sounds like that's about as good a deal as I'm gonna get.
-
sorry forgot to add, it does include a 3 year warranty
without the accidental damage protection its around 900 and change. Unfortunately, the 3 year depot warranty is not negotiable.
the price includes 8% sales tax and shipping to my house in texas. I'm not sure how much the recycling fee is.
I myself was considering a T400, but I eventually went with an x200tablet. I had a similar configuration, but I had the option of no OS and only 512 ram, since I wanted to upgrade it myself. If you have access to a university's pricing, it might be worth it if said university has a microsoft license (my university charges 10$ for disks of vista ult and no charge for downloading vista enterprise or XP) You can save 150$ for the OS. The major caveat of directlenovo is that they don't let you resale the notebooks.
I apologize again for not adding the warranty or specifying my cost was the total cost of shipping it to my house. -
I imagine that one needs to be enrolled in a University at the time of purchase (with email to match). Otherwise, I'd give consideration to something like that. Although, the accidental damage protection is a big draw for me.
T400 price/configuration approval
