    Hello,

I'm planning to buy the T400 but got a quick question for you guys. I found the T400 2765T6U at Provantage for about $1200.

Unfortunately, this model only comes with a CCFL screen and a few missing features (multiple card reader for example). I then went to Lenovo and configured the Enhanced T400 model with the features I wanted and ended up with $1400 (after a 10% off coupon).

Do you guys think it's worth it paying $200 for the LED screen, a slightly faster CPU, a bigger HD (though slower), and a 7-1 reader? All the other features are exactly the same as the 2765T6U.

    Thanks in advance!!

The LED is the best part of the T series. Much brighter screen and less power consumption. You can't go wrong with that! Make sure you also get discrete graphics.

I actually kind of regret getting the discrete graphics. Yeah it is cool technology and all...but I rarely use it. Wish I would have gotten the 9 cell battery instead.

Why not wait for another 20% coupon (or more - depending on what comes around in the holiday sales) and get an "elite" T400 from Lenovo. This would include a number of goodies you are referring to without having to price out each upgrade an item at a time. This is what I did with the recent 2 day sale and got a well spec's lapper with LED for the price of what you would purchase from Provantage.
