I looked but couldn't find anything on this odd message. For a new T400, going into create product recovery disk, I get a message DVD RAM not supported for disk 1 of product recovery...After puzzling, in the fury of setup I clicked OK and created "recovery" a 227mb disk with bootmgr, boot, and winre.wim on it. Then discovered the drive is an DVD RAM per sys manager. Noting that only one recovery disk is allowed per comments in the forum, the Create Recovery Window with the message now says OK (0) to proceed....
1) So what did I create, since a recovery disk set should be more than 227MB?![]()
2) Does the OK (0) mean I can or cannot create recovery media?
3)How do I create (DVD preferably) backups if disk 1 is not supported? (the message is puzzling).
Before trying to create the data or media recovery disks again I would appreciate any pointers on how to proceed.

Anybody have any thoughts on the recovery disk process and the T400 standard DVD or any links that deal with this? Or do I get to experience the excellence of Lenovo tech support
Thx -
It's been some time since I made recovery discs, but as I recall it was little more than following a series of prompts. A DVD-RAM drive should work fine with the proper medua. If you think something has gone wrong, call support.

The DVD RAM warning is confusing, but must point to the use of perhaps a DVD RAM DISK (?).
Anyway the disks are created, and when I went back (after making the media set) to try again it was disallowed implying that the disks had been completed. I plan to verify they work downstream.
Thx
