T400 speakers problem

hi, i got my t400 with vista business preinstalled, as some of the softwares are incompatible with vista.........i installed xp sp2 ....now there is no sound from the speakers........when tried to install the sound drivers(from below link) listed on the lenovo website...it says no device found nd doesn't proceed further and also when i install the xp drivers(from lenovo site) for integrated camera my system freezes at the shutdown bluescreen... plzz help

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED....my mistake i did not go through xp clean install thread

 

the reason you are having this problem with the audio drivers;

when you run the lenovo file, it puts the files on your hard drive, then you have to go and execute the installation.

you have to install the modem device DRIVER first, then install the audio driver.

so, for the audio, for instance, you have to go to;
c:\drivers\win\audio\xp32

then you first run the UIU32 file (device install)
THEN, run the setup file.

try with microsoft UUA high definition audio driver, i had the same issue and now it works
