I just got my T400 today. I believe that I am on the power optimized power manager profile. I am unplugged right now. Randomly the screen turns down to the lowest brightness. Sometimes it quickly goes back to normal, other times I end up just turning it back manually. Anyone have any idea of what's going on here?

Check the timers in Power Manager.

That was the first place I checked but maybe I missed something. If I am understanding this correctly, the only Idle Timers I need to worry about are the ones that control the profile I am currently in, correct? In other words, the Idle Time settings from the Video profile will have no affect on the Power Source Optimized profile, right?

Also, is it normal for it to take 10+ seconds from double clicking on the battery meter to the Power Manager being fully open? I am running XP.
