i have a T400 with vista home basic 32bit o.s. + 2gb ram.. and i was thinking of upgrading to a vista premium 64bit without doing the whole wipeout reformat.

if i just do the upgrade from the basic to premium without removing anything.. will all the drivers and all the documents (basically everything) stay in tact and working?

it would if you were staying with 32 bit, but since you need to go to 64 bit, i dont see how you would be able to do that without installing fresh, im not even sure if you could go from 32bit to 64 (upgrade wise, but it should be doable).
