I'm trying to decide between the T400 and T500. There are however, tradeoffs to observe between the two models.
- T400 has no DisplayPort. One representative told me there would be a new dock made available eventually (no date specified) to provide the T400 with DisplayPort. Another said no such thing would happen, and that the Advance Mini Dock for the T60 was the only option for digital output.
- T500 may have no LED screens. One representative told me they were back-ordered, another said LED would never be made available for the T500.
- Size: One representative told me that they were very much the same size, and that the T400 simply had a larger border to fit the 14.1" screen.
- Weight: A representative claimed the T400 was 4.7 lbs, and the T500 was 4.9 lbs. The website claims different numbers (5.5 lbs for the T500) but so much information on the website is suspect....
I find most of the information reported by the representatives to be suspect: they told me two completely different stories.
Are there any other details on which these two models differ, and is the above information correct?

From the web site it does not appear you can order a T500 with a LED LCD. T400 screen size is 14.1 and the T500 is 15.4which is a decent size larger.

They are definitely not the same size.

The first two questions are unanswerable; I don't believe Lenovo has made any published projections, and even then until you can buy something off the shelf I wouldn't trust that it would be available. Plans can change.
The remaining questions are answered within the T400 and T500 reviews on this site.
