I have a brand spanking new T400 sitting on my desk and I am quite happy. In digging through the ThinkVantage menus I discovered that it had GPS (surprise surprise). The problem is that when I bring up the "GPS Enabler" the program opens but nothing appears to happen - it doesn't look like it is searching for satellites, when I hit the "Start" button it says to try again later as if it has not enough satellite info. I tried this outside with no difference. I don't think that it is actually enabling the GPS hardware.

I went to the Lenovo site and made sure that the Verizon card allowed GPS and that I have all of the latest drivers and GPS software (I do). The COM port (COM7) on the GPS Enabler agrees with the device manager for the GPS port (Qualcomm HS-USB NMEA 9202 on COM7).

I looked through the forum here but all I could find were references to the ATT card, not the Verizon so it didn't help much

I am betting that I am missing something very simple - typical pilot error for the new computer. GPS isn't critical (I didn't even realize I had it) but I like to have everything working when I get a new computer.

    Thanks,
    Mep
