Ok, so I'm looking at getting a T400 and I have a pretty clear idea about what I want on most of the options except for the wireless card.

I know what the difference between the 5100 and the 5300 Intel cards are, but what exactly is the "ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter III?" Is this an Atheros chipset? Has anyone got one and can check just what it is? For the most part 802.11g is fine with me and I'm not looking to upgrade to N anytime soon, but how does it compare to the Intel cards? Is is more or less likely to be supported under Linux?

    Thanks!

The ThinkPad wireless adapters are Atheros cards.

ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless = Atheros chipset and no 802.11n support.

Some people claimed that it had better reception than the Intel 4965AGN, but personally I think it depends on the router too.
