gotta no idea whether there would be more discounts after the USPBLACKFRIDAY is expired.

.....couldnt make up my mind to purchase one T400 now or still waiting for more discounts...

yea, i have the same question also. do you think they might have better discounts after the holiday shopping season (early january)? or should i just get the deal now? i've been watching the thinkpads for a few weeks and it seems the lowest discount i could get was 10% stacked with $50. but that code gives 15%. is now the time? i might be disappointed if the prices drop a lot after this holiday season. then i'll beat myself up for not having waited just a little bit longer.

Get to fatwallet.com and get the 10% cashback on all lenovo purchases. The prices are really low, and if you need the notebook now, there is no point in waiting 2 more months.

    15% off plus 10% cashback should be a 23.5% off. I think it's a good deal.

    PD: [1- (1-15%)*(1-10%)] = 23.5%

if i have to depend on fatwallet to get that extra 10%, i think i'll pass. there's no such thing as a free lunch, and after skimming their conditions, i have to say i value my privacy a lot more than the 10% that i get back from them. plus, it seems i have to go through a lot of trouble to get that 10%. going through their site and having those special restrictions on my cookies when i'm paying through credit card is a bit too much to ask, as is disclosing my personal information to them.

still, that leaves the question...with just that 15% would it be a good idea to get the laptop now? it's not CRUCIAL that i get it now. i could wait a month or two.

the fatwallet has been quite confusing and complicated.....

i suppose i would wait for christmas.... ....well still it's a very good chance to purchase it now.....with >15% off...

due to inflation, $1000 now won't be $1000 in a few months, so it's always cheaper to buy later, even if it's for the same price. it's also a question of whether you need it now or later i suppose. but if you need it in 3 months and you can't get a better deal within 3 months, you might consider buying it now i guess.

Inflation? I don’t know that I’d use inflation as a reason to buy now or in three months, but I can tell you new technology is the epitome of planned obsolescence and a 2.8GHz processor today will be worth a little less three months from now.

I have to say that I've used fatwallet to buy on lenovo and the cash came back precisely as promised. They send you an email after the purchase that verifies that everything is ok, and I got it to my paypal. You have to wait as they say for 60 or 90 days (can't remember) buy they pay you back. if you want to make the purchase I suggest you clear youre cookies first and then login into fatwallet, in order to avoid any problems with cookies from other merchants.

regarding privacy, that's a personal decision. but maybe you can close the account after you receive the payment from them, and in that way you're personal details won't be in their system anymore.

another interesting fact to consider is that the sales in country on Black Friday were better than expected. If that is the situation I don't see vendors hurry up to reduce their prices even more.

    Just my two cents.

I've been pricing T500s of various configurations and they're coming up far more reasonable than without the USP discount.

Subjectively, I don't see Lenovo goinging much deeper than this before X-mas, and, frankly, this may be a way for a suffering company (due to our wonderful overall economic conditions) to try and get themselves into the green.

Heck, even Apple lopped a hundy off of their overpriced MacBooks :)

What's the MOST you could save by waiting? Maybe a few bucks at best (under a hundred), but on the downside, Lenovo may not offer something this good till next year...

...I also worry about things called "Fatwallet" ...reminds me of "FatTony" from the Simpsons, and seems just as suspicious :) Which is essentially confirmed by me having to remove cookies to use it (still I'll at least check it out).

i only glanced through their terms and conditions, and i really didn't like what i see there. whenever a site promises something for free, i know it's not really free; it always comes with something. if i don't have to sacrifice my time, i'll have to sacrifice my perseonal information. if i really want that money, i'd rather work in the time that i save from not doing the deal. i can live with not "saving" that additional 10%. still, thanks for letting me know about the possibility of getting such a deal!

Clearing cookies is in order to get the fatwallet tracking code right, and again I've used it and it worked perfectly. I've read their terms and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. and you can always delete your account after you receive the payment.

anyway, everyone should make their own decision.

I don't see the black Friday discount being any better than past deals. The only bigger drop would be if they have an end of year type deal. No guarantees though.
