Is it possible to get the T400 with discrete graphics without Windows installed?

There doesn't seem to be a Linux option for this model on the website unfortunately. Windows VISTA Business 64 is what I was leaning towards but is paying for an OS from Microsoft really the best way to go?

4GB ram........ I know certain functions dont work on non Vista operating systems tho.

I wonder if SLED 11 will resolve these issues.

A friend of mine just called Lenovo about getting a T400 with linux preinstalled, like Lenovo used to offer on the T61. The sales rep said they aren't offering it yet on the T400, but they will in the future (no idea when :(). My friend ordered anyway, and is going to try to get a windows refund.

If anyone is successful in getting preinstalled linux or a windows refund, please post.

I would definitely prefer the option to have linux installed. Even better would be the option to have no OS installed at all. Anyway, I just got my T400 today and I've read that Montevina chipset support was added in kernel 2.6.26 so I'll have to give it a go!
