I just bought a T400. Everything seems okay to me, thanks to the replies from the forum.
I also have a T500. I notice one difference between the two.
The T400's left and right click butons that are under the space key make very obvious sound, but the T500's corresponding two buttons are very quiet.
Anybody noticed this difference? Does my T400 have any problem on this?
Thanks!

My T400 is the same as vert's. Got mine two days ago. Pretty much the quietest "clicks" I've ever heard from a laptop's touchpad buttons.

madmook, I am not asking about the touchpad buttons. I am talking about the left and right buttons that are immediately under the space bar.
Thanks. -
Yes those navpoint buttons too... not very clicky at all. Not completely silent, but not distinctly clicky like other laptop brands I've used.
Edit: But my perception of "clicky" or "quiet" may be different from yours... -
It's one of the reasons I love ThinkPads is there's no annoying click when using the mouse buttons, though there certainly are other good ones. Call Lenovo and have them send you a new keyboard.

Thanks for all the input. I will contact Lenovo tech support about this.
Cheers!
T400's left and right click buttons make "big" sound
