    T400+adv Dock+h6570 Problem...

    Hi everybody,

    I seen some people in here already succeeded in putting an external GPU to their thinkpad t series using the advanced dock. So I decided to do same.
    I have a Lenovo T400, with intel x4500mhd, 8Gb ram, and C2D T9400 @ 2.53GHz. I bought an ATI Sapphire HD 6570 (2gb ram ddr3).
    When I mix everything in advanced dock and when I power on my laptop something strange just happen : the laptop is always rebooting after 4 of 5 seconds... any idea to solve this problem ?

    there is not enough power from the dock to run this card, you would need to do some modification to get this to work.

    Thanks a lot.
    But a question still remain : my card is a passive one supposed to be 45W... Is the 50W limit just "theorical"? I mean, there is a video on utube showing a t61 running battlefield3 with the advanced dock and this video ard without any power add...

    Yeah, I did, and there is nothing to do... no answer ^^ 'Think I'm gonna buy another passive card (less powerful) to see if this is really a power issue. If it is not, I'm gonna cry.
