Does any one know what the two other partitions are that
came with the T400 Thinkpad? Do you actually need them? I got the T400
with 80GB HD, one partition (C: Drive) 60GB, 2nd partition about 9.8GB, and the third partition around 1.5GB. Do you really need the smaller two. The C: drive is 60GB but it came with only 30GB free.

My T400 came with Vista Business 64, would Microsoft send you a copy of a Vista Disc if you have a OEM key?

The Q partition is all of the data required for a system restore. If you have created your restore disks (first thing you should do), then you can double click on that drive to delete it and transfer the free space to your C drive.

The S partition is required for Rescue and Recovery, I would recommend leaving that one alone.

The third partition is the predesktop environment (blue button before boot). I highly recommend you hold onto this. The 9.8GB is the factory recovery image. You can delete this one (and will actually be prompted about it) after backing it up to CD (double click on the partition in my computer, you will need 1 CD and 2 DVDs).

You may be able to convince Microsoft to send you a Vista disc, but I doubt it. I tried to get a 64 bit business disc from Lenovo and it was either a flat out NO or "get out your credit card". There is a microsoft webpage for getting 64 bit media if you bought the 32 bit version, but this only applies to retail box copies (not OEM), I tried.
