hey guys :) i have the t400 with the 4 cell battery and i noticed that if i put my computer to sleep when it's got a full charge, in the morning, it'll be at around 90%. that means that just being in standby, it lost 10% of the battery charge in like 7 hours. is that right? i figured standby would use a lot less power than it does, i guess.

im making this thread in hopes that other people can post their experiences as well.. im sure a lot of people have the 6 or 9 cell batteries, but if you could post what kind of battery you have along with how fast the battery goes down while the computer is in standby, i'd be able to answer my question, which is: "is my battery normal?

    Yes, that seems about right.
Especially with a 4 cell, usually in standby mode the system draws around 1-2 watts of energy.

I lose about 5% overnight on my x200 if I leave it unplugged and on standby. This is with a 9 cell battery, so 10% overnight for a 4 cell seems about right.

yeah 4% loss over 10 hours on a 9-cell. not bad, considering, i never charge my battery past 95%.

OT>>>>does anyone know how to improve hibernation times?

Yes, you can keep the T400 in sleep for over a week.

I've had it in sleep for over 3 days and it only lost 35%, so I think a week is possible. I don't know why the heck you would want to put your notebook to sleep for that long, might as well shut it off.

I really hate waiting for boot or wake up from hibernation. Those minutes are really a pain.

If I go away for several days or a week, and come back, viola, the machine is up in seconds.
