    Hey everyone,

Just received my T400 and I'm loving it so far. LG screen (LP141WP2-TLB1) looks great. The bulge near the ThinkVantage button is negligible. DVD burner is fairly quiet so all my concerns were for not. The only thing that slightly erks me is that the lower right click button is very "clicky" as compared to the lower left click button.

I'll update everyone if anything goes wrong within the next few days.

    Thanks guys...

One quick question to whom ever has the anwser, lol.

My setup guide states that the battery lock should be slid into the locked position. Doesn't this happen automatically? Installing the 9-cell battery I engage the locking mechanism manually, hold it there until I've got the battery in place, then release the locking mechanism and it sort of "self locks". Do I need to slide it even further after releasing?

You can, but don't have to. I usually do as it fends off any accidental brushes against the release tab.

I lock mine. I push the battery in and then I move the battery lock tab to the lock icon, until it makes a click noise.

Thanks for the replys. I guess that means I'm not currently in the fully locked position.

Maybe I just have to use a little more force as it doesn't want to slide fully over to the lock symbol.

You shouldn't have to use much force. All I do is align the battery with the left and right tracks and push it in gently. This makes the lock switch move to about the halfway position between locked and unlocked and then I move the switch to the locked state till I hear a click.

I've seen numerous references now to a "bulge" near the thinkvantage button. Does anyone have any pictures of this? What exactly is it and is it something to be concerned about? Finally is it limited to the T400 model?

It must be an isolated thing. My T400 doesn't have a bulge around the thinkvantage or power button, or the area between them. Nice and smooth!

Some people have it some don't. I have it but I really wouldn't call it a bulge in my case, it is very very very subtle. It is caused by the ribbon cable for the LCD being routed slightly off track under the case plastic. I have heard that some people have opened up their case and rerouted the cable to remedy the problem. You will have to decide if it is worth it or not.

Yeah it's not bad at all. Like snake said very, very, very small. Slightly raised plastic compartment is a good way to discribe it. I'm extremely picky/anal and it doesn't bother me.

P.S. I got the battery to lock snake, thanks for the help.
