I just noticed that we can find T400s model from Lenovo website. Here is how.

If you visit the US Lenovo website, http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/index.html And click the hyperlink of "more" inside the "What is new" square, it will directly link to the website of http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-71460 And choose any link from the left list, e.g. "Product information", And if we select the "Notebooks and handhelds" from the drop list of "Brand", T400s model is available in the drop list of "Family" . There are 4 models available totally.

I'll give heavy odds and take "more than T400."

I have seen several website pre-sale T400s,but I don't think the price is real. Also none of them mentioned the discrete graphics which I thought T series should have one.

I remember somewhere mentioned T400s will have a new multi-touch pad, so I guess T400s probably is waiting for the Windwos7.

If the T400s is rumored to be thinner and lighter than the T400 then it's quite possible that a dedicated graphics option will not be available.

It could be that Lenovo is waiting till June 26th to put the T400s on sale since that's when the W7 upgrade program begins.

If you're referring to the price on the Mwave site, I believe that's Australian dollars, so you'll have to convert to USD.

    $2,935.90 * 0.80321 = $2,358.14

What's the "s" stand for? If it's slim or the like....this could be a very think light laptop...which typically cost more.

    Just found this site: Ascent.co.nz

    Hi guys!

I came over a T400s machine today, and I took the liberty to write a tiny review on it, take some pictures, and write some information about the specs that will be possible.

As far as I know, these are the only pictures of the machine to be found on the web, so consider it an exclusive :)

    Check it out :)

Thank you! VERY happy to see the red stripes are back, but why they needed to make this part with curves and angles now I’m not sure how it fits. Also looks like they finally centered the screen, though that never bothered me.

As for the keyboard, I’m all for the three larger keys as these are ones that you kind of often use—so the chances of you hitting another key instead are reduced. HOWEVER, the new positioning of the backslash and pipe is atrocious. IBM/Lenovo consistently takes FAR too much liberty with the placement of keys on the keyboard—and now we have to convince the idiots to unf*ck three keys (this one, the Fn and Ctrl key).

whats wrong with the fn key placement?

I know some people prefer the CTRL key right under the shift first and then fn but that can easily be faulted as not being close enough to the alt key. Or they can push it next to the space bar but then thats also kinda wierd.

But yea the fn key placed there has bugged me a few times especially for FPS shooters that use control as the ducking default. But I dont know what would otherwise be a better compromise to place the fn key if they indeed want to add one.

usually the ctrl key is on the bottom left and following it would be the fn key.

Yea I noticed some laptops do that. THe one I have currently is the fn key is under the shift first.

It annoys me in FPS games that use control for say ducking. Otherwise it doesnt botter me cause I dont seem to use control much else.

For business needs I use the Ctrl key often—copy, paste, shortcuts and whatnot and having it out of place is a bit annoying, especially when most other systems have it different. Yes the Ctrl key is a bit larger on my notebook, but I expect it to be at the bottom right of my keyboard, not near the bottom right. To make matters worse, I could remap the keys, but because one key is larger than the other, I can’t readily switch them and fully take advantage of this (and it’ll confuse others).

    Games? That’s why I have a PS3.

That's what everyone says, and yet, all the laptops I have used in the past have had the Fn key in the bottom left corner. Even my external wireless keyboard right now has the Fn key in the bottom left.

Everyone uses the control key for those things. Whats 'business' anyway. Do scientists claim they use the control key for 'science' if theyre typing research papers?

Its about getting into the habbit anyway. If you are used to something it becomes ok. Its just like the qwerty keyboards. Its an arbitrary human standard of historical origin. No other reason to it other than that. You can complain about that too if you want.

I think computer games are better than console games. A computer can basically do what consoles can. Only edge they have is game developer exclusivity to their platforms, and arguably dedicated processing and graphics for the games. It does not mean that computers cant do that anyway. Plus on top of it, computers have legit use outside of plain gaming. I think pc wins over consoles.

I have about eight notebook computers right now—the only one with the Fn key at the far left is the Lenovo.

You mentioned the Fn key bothers you in games—I mentioned the Fn key bothers me when I need to get work done, which is why I bought the notebook.
