My card reader has never worked since I purchased this laptop. I didn't care before, but now I need to use it regularly, and it doesn't cooperate. How can I trouble shoot it? It shows up in device manager. I've tried the lenovo provided drivers and the windows update drivers, but whenever I throw in my SD card just... nothing happens. Like it's not even in there. Where can I start narrowing down this problem?

The reader is enable in BIOS. It shows up as "SD host adapters" which opens to SDA Standard Compliant "SD Host Controller" in the device manager in PCI slot 3. The current driver in there is 6.1.7601.17514 dated 6/21/06 from MS.

Put the card in, hit Start, find "Create and format hard disk partitions". Open that, and see if Windows is forgetting to assign a drive letter to it.
