I was in the market for a $850 CAD T400, when I saw that T410 was coming out and thought I should wait a bit.(ill be needing the laptop for next semester).

I did quite a bit of research and saw the T400s, just amazing...but the price was also amazing lol $1700 was just a big fat NO for me. However I saw that T410s is coming out in January (so soon? ), and currently Lenovo has some big discounts on the T400s. I can now get it with $1160CAD - base price ofc.

Do you think the T400s will drop below $1000 when T410s comes out, or is that just a dream?

Also ill be using this laptop for uni (EE student), carrying it there everyday, do you think going for T400s over T400 is an overkill?

But Canadians will always pay more than Americans. I doubt you'll see the T400s in Canada for <$1000. EE = Electrical Engineering? What programs/games will you be using?

what are you talking about with the 35% coupons it's at 1.1K already

Also EPP doesn't have a discount on the T400s, so you're buying it retail price (thats why the $1800)

Interesting. Usually EPP is cheaper than regular. Haven't checked out the regular Lenovo page.

pragmatically you dont need the SSD. Better off with a regular HDD and a better warranty. Can also get 2nd DIMM elsewhere and order with 1 stick. That should lower your price and is the common sense thing to do.

I have no idea where you are seeing this price since that code doesn't work in the Canadian EPP nor in the link from RFD (Friend's EPP). The base price in Canada is $1800, so with upgrades, there is no way that I've seen to get it to $1300. So how did you get it...

You shouldn't go through the EPP site, just google lenovo choose Canada and apply the code CAPTSERIESHOTDEAL at checkout. Again make sure you're not in the EPP site.
