    Help...

I just bought a T400s and looked up the parts based on the s/n at lenovo.com and it looks like this one comes with "45N8202" which has a description of "1.8 SM128 TOS".

Does anyone else have this drive in their T400s? How are the benchmarks? Everything I've read when I search for Toshiba 128gb ssd is that it's not a very quick drive.

Seems all the benchmarks for the reviews of the T400s out there have Samsung 128GB SSD's.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this drive? Am I correct in assuming this is a Toshiba drive, because the description contains "TOS"?

I don't want to open this one yet (no returns if I open it). I'm worried that the drive will be slow and I'd be better off returning this, buying the T400s without the SSD and getting a SSD aftermarket.

Help! I'm looking for people who have this drive and have done some benchmarks. Even just a crystaldiskmark would be nice.

    Thanks!

    Edit:
Nevermind, found this post here now that I was able to google around and find the model number.

My new T400s (manufactured August. 10) came with a Samsung 128GB drive, for the record. I wonder how Lenovo distributes the two models over their production...

This one was made on 8/17/2009.

Look up your system at lenovo.com. If you look up the warranty status, there is an option to lookup the parts that came with the system.

What is the part # and description of the drive that came with your system?

(Yes, I still haven't opened this one...)

1: if you return your t400s , you must pay 15% restocking fee. There is no excuse from lenovo.

2 I don't think toshiba's SSD is slow, take a look of mine. It's fast enought for a 1.8 SSD

Agree entirely! Excellent results for the Toshiba SSD! The SSD will be fantastic, as 95% of them are. I worried about heaps of supposed problems before I received my Thinkpad - none of them in fact had much substance. Best just to give the new machine a go - no need to imagine problems before they have arisen (other than from hearsay). :)

I bought it from CDW. As long as I didn't open it, they would have no problem taking it back. Not everyone buys their Lenovo from Lenovo.

I did open it and it's a mighty nice system. Yes, the Toshiba 128GB SSD seems fast in my quick tests. Got about the same as you with HD Tune.

I was worried because initially everything I googled about Toshiba 128GB SSD's was telling me that it was 100MB read and 40MB write. Must have been the old model.
