It's been awhile since I visited this forum. After 2+ years of using T400s I had to reformat my hdd (main SSD) and do a clean install of windows (WinXP, SP3). I let System Update download and install all the latest drivers. I have ran System Updates before with original Lenovo pre-install of Windows, but this was first time from clean install. Weirdly enough, system doesn't feel snappy anymore. The biggest concern is that I see icons in the taskbar kind of pixilated and the whole screen redraw/refresh feels like its lagging. I do have my system optimized for best performance, just like I had before. So, I'm not expecting anything different. Are there some tweaks with Intel GMA 4500 to improve the performance? Perhaps, my original Samsung SSD (128GB) needs some updates? Any suggestions? Don't recall during SP3 (from MS) or System updates running anything related to DirectX updates. Maybe that is a reason? Resolution is set to max 1440x900, 32-bit color. Kind of puzzled...
