My T400s is right now touring in rural Hungary and while the screen works it's totally dim. Kinda like CCFL inverter dies effect. But to the best of my knowledge the T400s is LED backlit. (It's the non touchscreen version) Local computer shop (which I do not trust at all) says it needs a screen replacement. Does it really? Is there something DIY I can try / test? Connectors coming lose, whatnot?
