Just to give you a background, I purchased my t41 a week ago and within that time it has crashed multiple times even after updating all the drivers and applications. It happens mostly when I am watching a dvd and I move the notebook causing the dvd player to skip. BSOD instantly, and worse, you can't boot up unless you do last known good config, and even that is hit or miss. [!]
My best workaround was to disable the video driver in safe mode and that seems to rectify the problem, the catch is I can't watch any dvds, and probably can't play 3d games, not that I would use this machine for that anyway.
The T41 also crashes when you restart from hibernation. Again, I believe the video driver is the main culprit or the video card itself. [:0]
Have you heard of these problems with the t41p, and t42? Anyway, I would appreciate an honest feedback and any solutions if there are any out there.
Thx.

You updated to the latest driver or roll back to an older one? Perhaps your video card or something else is defective. Do you have any warranty left on this? Watching a DVD should not crash your system. Good Luck.

I've been testing the system constantly to see if any combinations work. My last crash occurred a few minutes ago and I am looking into the possibility that the APS system is causing the crash. I tilted my notebook forward while on the internet an sure enough it crashed. I know the APS suspends the hard drive when it's on a funny angle or until strong vibrations cease. I think the T41 can't handle the this and just crashes the system.
I've unistalled the APS and will continue to monitor its status.
I've read IBM's suggestion to updated the drivers but that did not do the trick. Most negative opinions on CNET seems to suggest that there is a problem with the hard drive, but I really think it's the APS. Since it is a new feature on IBM it just seems logical that it would cause all this hassle.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I still have warranty on the machine so if all else fails, send it for repair. I'm just afraid to send it to the service center and get it back in the same state or in a worse condition...read a few horror stories.
