    Hi,

I just recently reformatted my ThinkPad T41 and I am having issues with my USB ports. I've done some searching and I found this thread that specifies my exact problems, but unfortunately was not answered. So I'm hoping someone on this board can help! I've tried to find drivers on Lenovo's site, but was unable to find any. I've updated the drivers through device manager. (just like the thread below). And I have also updated my BIOS. Thanks!

Brief: USB won't recognize automatically usb devices...however I was able to get a memory stick to work by going to device manager and getting a driver there.

Do you have the services Plug and Play, and Shell Hardware Detection running?

FIXED! Finally after hours of searching online I found this:

    1. Run
    2. regedit.exe

    3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    4. SYSTEM
    5. SETUP

Set "FactoryPreInstall" to "0" (it's probably set at "1")

Set "Audit Progress" to "0" (it's probably set at "1")

    FINALLY!!!!
