There seems to be some volume limiter in play with the on-board sound. I'm wondering if there is any way to increase the default output (think: wattage) of the card.

For example, when I use headphones, and the volume is full (50/50), I get no distortion and the sound is clear (pretty much the same when I use the on-board speakers). Feels like the amplifier is being held back, and can perform at higher levels (on-board speakers, not so much).

All my settings are good. I'm not looking for a solution where I increase all the equalizer bands to get this, but I might consider if there is no alternative.

Has anyone seen anything that might do this?
