I would like to use a full size keyboard, monitor and mouse and close the cover and slide the laptop under the monitor stand.

Is there a function key or combination to achieve my objective without the T410 going to sleep?

    Thanks in advance.

You can make it do nothing instead of going to sleep when you close the lid, in Power Manager.

One easy way to do this is click on Start Menu
    Type in the word lid
Then click on the result change what closing the lid does
Then on the third option it has When I close the lid:
    Just select Do nothing

Depending on your computing habit, you might only want to have the computer do nothing when it is plugging in to the adapter, in that case you only need to change the setting for Plugin portion of the option
