    Hi,

I just received my T410 yesterday and I have begun to experience a slightly annoying self-adjusting backlight where in some pages, it lights up a bit, then darkens again.

I've tried looking into the power options, but I don't think I see anything there which is useful.

Also, does anyone know what the name of the Thinkpad T410 6-cell battery is? The new XY++ branding is really confusing.

try to reinstall the thinkvantage power manager software and the intel display driver.

Also boot into safe mode, and see whether this problem also crawls up. (Press F8 during the initial bootup).

This started for me when I installed the Thinkpad screen (LCD) driver instead of the generic pnp one.

At least that is when I noticed it.

After a reboot, it went away though. Most odd.
