    T410 6 Cells Battery Lifetime Stink! 3 hrs, 40 min???

    So I was testing out the battery on my T410 with spec: i5-M520, integrated graphic, 6 cells. I run the following apps at the same time: firefox, word, outlook, jdownloader, and vlc (listen to music). The result was the 6 cells battery only lasted for 3 hrs and 40 minutes, very disappointed. Anyone get 5 hrs out of their (with similar spec)?

    For the multitasking and activities you described (mainly playing music), that's normal.

    Go play with the power management settings.

    Chances are CPU speed is set to adaptive. Try setting it to lowest and then see if you can still do everything without too much lag.

    I was hoping to get around 5 hours. My brother's T410 with discrete graphic card and i5-540 get over a little 2 hrs under same condition.

    Nippero: I'll try your suggestion and set the setting to lowest and then see what happen. I did had my setting set to adaptive.

    Considering that this is the smallest battery available, I'd say that the 3:40 lifetime is excellent.

    I too think the standard 6cell battery runs for 3h40 min is pretty decent.

    Lower your screen brightness and turn the power setting to the lowest setting possible.
