I have a T410 2537-DQ8, with a deep gouge in the screen, and I want to replace it. The screen itself is a 1280x800 Samsung LTN141AT15-001, and I have to say it's pretty poor - rubbish viewing angles and poor contrast.
I want to upgrade to a 1440x900 as well.
I've contacted a couple of sellers on eBay about replacement LCDs and both of them have said either they won't sell me a 1440x900, or that they strongly recommend against replacing a 1280x800 with a 1440x900, due incompatibility/failure. They both want to sell me the same screen that I already have - which I don't want.
I have looked on Thinkwiki and found that the T410 did come in a 1440x900 config, using FRU 42T0731, LG-Phillips LP141WP3-TLA1.
I want to buy this LCD for my laptop - but am I missing something? Is there anything that would prevent this from being a compatible replacement?
I have to say that I don't have much faith in the eBay sellers I've spoken to, since one of them said that the reason they wouldn't sell me a 1440x900 screen is because "the higher resolution takes more power to run, and it would eventually burn up your motherboard". I am no expert, but that sounds like total rubbish, even to a novice like me.
Thanks in advance for any advice!![]()

They just want to minimize the chance that you will need to return the screen you purchase from them. I've ordered a couple replacements from laptopscreens.com and they seem to have the 1440x900 panel in stock right now.

If you don't mind me asking, what actual LCD panels did you receive? And what were they like?
EDIT: Upon re-reading your post, you don't indicate that you've had LCDs for this actual model, so sorry if the question is not appropriate.
After research on various sites I've found conflicting information regarding this. I've read that the Samsung ones for this laptop are unilaterally bad, the LG Phillips are good, and the AU Optronics I've heard can be bad or good (depending on who you believe).
I know that my current Samsung 1280x800 has really poor viewing angles and contrast, making it next to impossible to enjoy watching a movie on the screen. I'm trying to make sure that the replacement I get is the best there is.
