Just wanted to see a thread for that elusive 14.1" protective sleeve. Here are a few suggestions:
- If you haven't been around the block a few times, the WaterField Designs SleeveCase is a fan favorite because the sleeves are custom-made for your laptop. They provide excellent protection and are very durable. However, I used to have one and found it very heavy and not at all easy on the eyes..
- Some people have suggested Incase sleeves designed for the 15" MacBook Pro or the ZeroShock Case by Shinza, which, to my knowledge, doesn't fit the T410/T410s perfectly. Can any owners speak on their experiences with these sleeves?
- Finally, I stumbled upon this sleeve out of Japan, which looks like it was designed with the ThinkPad in mind. Has anyone ever purchased this sleeve? Any thoughts?
More suggestions, please!

What about the one case sleeve sold by Lenovo, anyone has any experience with it?

if you're looking for a sleeve that offers real impact/drop protection instead of just scratch/dent protection, it would be a crime not to mention the tom bihn brain cell (horizontal or vertical):

I have this for my T400s and am pretty happy with it. Simple and very lightweight, yet provides enough storage for the power cord and a few odds and ends. More cushioning than the average nylon sleeve. I usually use it "briefcase style" without the shoulder strap, which works out fine since the computer is pretty light, but it works well with the strap on too. Pretty good quality and I think a good price (I think I got it at buy.com for $30 or so).

I put my vote in for the ZeroShock III case. I own 2: One for my netbook, another for my T410. It fits great for my Thinkpad even using a 9-cell battery. Though, I highly doubt the slice battery mounted would still make the case fit (Yet another gripe about the bulbous shape of the slice battery).
Some guy in Dallas Texas has them on a "big online auction site". I got one specifically labelled for the T410. -
I would definitely either consider the ZeroShock III or the sleeves from Waterfield. I just got a Waterfield bag the other day and it fits amazingly. They have the perfect size for whatever T-series and whatever battery size you have. The only probably is if it would fit in my backpack anymore with the sleeve on.

That sleeve looks great, but I don't think it will beat my SFbags sleeve in terms of versatility (detachable shoulder strap, add-on bag). -

You could probably ask the guy to list another, or order one that matches the dimensions.
Surprisingly, it just fits my Skooba Checkpoint case (Skooba R101-101 ) in the laptop pouch. I wonder if TSA will flip I have the laptop in both the sleeve and the checkpoint case (the kind that unzips into 2 halves, like a butterflied steak). I find out in 10 days..
The interior is 15.5 x 11.5 x 1.5 inches of the case itself. Probably works 'cause the T410 itself is no more than 1.26 thick.. -

I ust BuiltNY sleeves, I have a 14-15 model for my T400 and a 15w model for my T61p. I always carry the laptop in either my briefcase or a backpack, so I need a very simple sleeve for basic protection inside of the other case.

I just bought one from Amazon....Caselogic VLS-114
Nylon material with reasonable amount of padding (not neoprene), quality seems decent. I like it cuz its lightweight, suede-like material on edges for easy grip...some of the neoprene ones seem pretty heavy. No external pocket but pretty good for its price -
Nothing ever beats the Zeroshock. Those sleeves are awesome. The shinza.com website sells only a few sizes, check eBay for basically any laptop. I have one for the T400s, one for my Vaio P, I had one for the Dell X1, as said: next to indestructible.
If you press your finger into it you can see how slowly it comes back, very interesting sight.
