    Hi folks,

I'm a big Thinkpad fan, but I need a machine with a high quality screen (specifically referring to vertical viewing angles here). The reviews of the T410 suggests that the screen has poor viewing angles. Does anyone know if the T410s or the T510 are better in this respect? (I'm no fan of 16:9 either, but if the viewing angles are better I'll deal with it).

Alternatively, does anyone know if some of the other business lines (Dell, HP) offer laptops (14-15") with better screens than what's available on the Thinkpads?

I know HP offered a 17" model with a high quality display, but that's a bit too big for my needs.

    Thanks!

This will go over great here...but the 17" Macbook Pro with the Matte screen is really, really, really good. It's just a hair bigger than my 15" W500 but a whole lot thinner and that battery goes forever. It's really a top quality machine. I'm partial to Thinkpads, but I hate their screens so I tried one for a few months. Ended up selling it just this last weekend as I'm too used to the trackpoint to give it up. Although that large touchpad on the MBP is really great...but still no trackpoint :)

the 95% gamut screen on the t510 is supposed to be good, but it is all just rumors and guessing at this point because it isn't available to buy yet as far as i know

The best screens in the 15" form factor would probably be Dell Precision M4400 RGBLED. This model should be replaced shortly with the M4500 but as companies have now switched to 16:9, you'll have to wait to see reviews of the screen.
