I'm considering sending back my T410s (nvidia/128gb SSD/4gb ram) in exchange for a stripped down machine that will save me money and better address my actual needs. I love the keyboard of the T410s and I'm curious to hear some Thinkpadders comments on the T410 and Edge (14) keyboards. From searching the forum it seems that the T410 keyboards are hit or miss. Is that still the case? This T410s keyboard is perfect. Reviewers seem to love the Edge keyboards, so the only downgrade in that department would be losing the large delete key. I think I can live without it.

    Any comments appreciated.

Better look at the keyboard again. Unlike the ThinkPad's 7-row keyboard with a standard layout and dedicated key block for Ins/Del/Home/End/PgUp/PgDn, the Edge is a 6-row keyboard with a scrambled layout. That may or may not be a minus for you.

Thanks for that observation - that probably would drive me crazy. So then how about that T410 keyboard? Any consensus?

the keyboard is actually quite good. The Cap lock got its own individual LED light on the key. The key feel is similar to the T400...

Thanks for the comments. It's quite similar to the T410s keyboard then? And do people have wildly divergent opinions on the quality of the T410 keyboard? Notwithstanding the obvious fact that people have lots of different opinions and that gripes tend to be expressed more often than praise.

Speaking of which, allow me to say once again that the T410s keyboard is among the best I've ever typed on.
