T410 from Lenovo Canada

I'm ordering a T410 from Lenovo Canada, wondering if anyone can share their experience on how long Lenovo Canada took to ship the product?

 

I ordered my T510 on Jan 20, and received from UPS on Feb 4. During the order process, Lenovo estimated 11 business days till "shipped", whatever that means. I received mine in exactly 11 business days. IIRC the T510 was built in about 4 calendar days, so shipping was the bulk of it.

I have the HD+ screen, which nowadays looks like it will delay the order, although for me it would be well worth the delay.

 

Where do you live in Canada? I'm from Vancouver...wondering if there's a regional difference in delivery time

 

chris, I can chime in on that. I'm in Vancouver too (a suburb thereof actually but you get the idea).

Shipped by Lenovo Feb 22nd in China, released by Canada Customs on the 24th -- in ONTARIO, then they must have trucked it out and it was delivered on March 3rd. It blew my mind that they fly it from China to ontario instead of direct to Vancouver which would make so much more sense and would have taken only a few days to get to me.

Toronto. I looked again, and I ordered on Jan 20, and (according to the Lenovo site), shipped on Jan 28, so less than 8 calendar days before Lenovo released to UPS.
Mine flew into Toronto (forgot from where), spent a day or so in customs, and arrived at my door Feb 4, which means 7 calendar day in shipping & customs.

 

It seem that the Canada custom is located in Toronto, so the have to travel to Toronto to be clear by the custom.

 

No no, there are Customs locations across the coutry--especially in a city like Vancouver that's got a major port, two major border crossings, an international airport, etc. I think it's either the case that the products are shipped to Lenovo's Canadian HQ in Ontario and then re-shipped from there, or else UPS sends everything into Ontario to some central hub and then sends them out to the rest of the country. Either way, looking at a map and how direct it would be to fly the laptops acorss the pacific ocean for Vancouver customers it's just really frustrating.

 

Wow that's really quick . I just called my sales rep and he told me it's gonna take approximately another 12 days....that's 19 days in total (I placed the order on Easter)

Actually the dates I mentioned above are only about the shipping. I placed the order on Feb 2nd, and it shipped on the 22nd as I mentioned. Now mind you, this also included the Chinese New Year week where most companies in China basically shut right down for the week.

 

Looks like 19 days isn't too long after all.....guess all I can do is wait
