    Hi,
I have connected my Lenovo T410 with a display port to HDMI adapter and HDMI cable to my LG HDTV. If I start the TV choosen the right HDMI input where the display port to HDMI adapter is connected, my Laptop finds an LG audio device and I get the sound through the stereo speakers of my TV (works fine). But if I switch to another HDMI input on my operating TV (the one where the DVB-S receiver is connected) and thereafter switch back to the laptop HDMI input, the former existing TV audio device is missed in laptop device manager and I get the sound only through the laptop speakers. Then I need to reboot my laptop and have to switch to the laptop HDMI input before restarting to see and enable the TV speakers again. Remove and reconnecting the cable only doesn't help.

Any idea what could be the reason of this problem (the TV, the laptop, the display port adapter, the HDMI cable)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of rebooting, you might try suspending the laptop then turning on again.

Ok thanks for this suggestion, I will try it as soon as I will be back at home. But at the end it doesn't solve the problem, that I have to reboot the Thinkpad (or wake-up from suspend mode) to initialise the audio connection again.

    Any further ideas... ?
