Hi, I'm just wondering if the HDD ultrabay caddy for the T410 will run at full SATA 3.0gbps speeds, and if there are any known issues with it? Can it be used as a primary boot drive?
Secondly, I was looking through the service manual, and it appears the SDXC card reader from the T410 is identical to the SD card reader in my T410. I was thinking of purchasing it and putting it in my system. Does anyone know if that may or may not work?
Thanks.![]()

I bought the caddy P/N 26R9247 for use with my T420s. While the label says 1.5Gb/s (ie SATA 150) I have tested it with a SATA 300 SSD and it works fine (as I would expect since there are no electronics in the caddy). I would expect that you can use it as a primary boot drive. After all, the BIOS allows booting from the optical drive when in the bay.
I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work. It is a standard 34mm ExpressCard module.

Expresscard? I think maybe you misunderstand me. I want to replace the current SD card reader with one from the T420, since it reads SDXC cards.

You said T410, not T420 in your post

The T420 datasheet says:
I am therefore assuming it is the same as in my T420s: A module that goes into the ExpressCard slot. And, since ExpressCard is a standard interface, whatever adaptor you put into the slot will work.

Thanks for the replies.
It would seem the HDD caddy is listed only under the T 420 product page. However the bluetooth module and SD card slot remain elusive.
Edit: What's with NBR's hyper links? T 420 vs. T420. What's going on here?
