    Dear Notebook forum,

Long story short, my laptop needs its palm rest, backboard and HDD cover to be replaced.

I have sent the machine into Lenovo but right now, they say this will not be covered by the warranty (ADP) and they are charging me ridiculous amounts of money.

How could I save some money to repair my laptop? I have tried to find parts online however, there seems to be none for t410s. Can I use parts from t400 and etc?

    Best Regards

    Ysbera

T400 parts will not work. They are shaped differently. If I were you I'd try to buy a dead T410s and swap out the parts you need.

You have accidental and they're not covering it?

You can look on the service parts page for the T410s and find the part numbers for the ones you need. Look on eBay and Google to see if there's any less expensive options. I don't know that the HD cover has a part number.

Yeah ... for some reason this strikes me as strange ... I understand the reason you buy ADP precisely for a situation like this.

    Weird....

Last time I checked there was some sort of "normal accident" policy, which as I understood doesnt cover any accident. Weird, because I dont understand whats normal accident and whats not.

    Thanks guys!

I called Lenovo again and apparently there is a miscommunication between customer service and the depot. I think they are fixing my computer now for free, at least I hope so!

Well that's great news. Will Lenovo replace damaged parts under accidental damage plan if it's only cosmetic and doesn't impede functionality in any way, shape or form?
