Roughly 15 minutes ago, as I've been thinking to buy a T410 for some time now, I was visiting the Lenovo website. Out of nowhere, I see a link for a ThinkPad T410i with a base price of $819.00.

About 3 minutes later, it wouldn't let me access it. I found the cache of the file from my computer, and I'm going to post screenshots here. This new ThinkPad looks very good for me, because my biggest gripe (for my own personal use - not the computer) is the fact that an i5 processor is too much for me - an i3 would be enough, so I felt like I'd be wasting money.

Is this too good to be true, or an April Fool's Joke :p ?

No news on the T510i and after a call to Lenovo support, they have no idea what's going on. They didn't even know that the T410i was dropping today.

Update: I guess it's back up, since I can view it again.

Internal site errors? I don't know, because I just went all the way through the buying process up until the point where you actually confirm the order and payment, and I've encountered no problems far.

I upgraded the RAM to 4GB, added the camera, WXGA+, 128GB SSD, and 6 cell battery.
Total pre-tax price was $1248. If you call in and ask for an educational discount, they'll give it without much fuss.

Lenovo has an educational discount? Since I'm a student (albeit high school), this applies toward me. I wouldn't expect it to be a copious discount, but what's the percentage (unless it's calculated some other way)?

Looks like it worked out to about 5%. Not much, but I'll take it. If you Google "Lenovo educational discount " it should take you to a page that allows you to shop with the lower prices.

    Happy hunting!
