I have Thinkpad T410i+Win7Pro and I did a clean installation (installed win 7pro, the ethernet driver and then thinkvantage that installed all the other drivers).

Now the issue is that the ethernet is frequently disconnecting and reconnecting automatically. I did download the new driver from Thinkpad site and when i try to install it, I am told that the same version of driver is already installed. When i try to uninstall that driver via the device manager, even though i select the option to "delete software for this device". It automatically installs the driver as soon as I uninstall the driver.

What can I do? Is there any log for ethernet that will tell me why am I getting disconnected? There is no issue with the wifi.

Can you run off a Linux boot CD and see if the ethernet still does it? If it does in a Linux boot environment, perhaps you have a defective port requiring a motherboard replacement.

I tried the new version of Ubuntu. The ethernet is working fine. So guess its not a hardware issue.

I would suggest disabling Access Connections and see what happens. Lenovo also a diagnostic tool, System ToolBox, which may be able to find the problem.

Ya I would do what ZaZ said, or try uninstalling ThinkVantage, and reinstalling it, see if that fixes the issue.
