    hey all,

I ordered a T410s for $1300CAD(all in) with the 80GB and now I'm seriously debating whether I should cancel/edit my order. Has ANYONE gotten a T410s with the 80GB SSD? If yes can you confirm if it's G1 or G2???

    thank you

That's a pretty good deal either way. I figure that its luck of the draw for the SSD though since all big companies order many varied parts and will use whatever is on hand. Some might get the G1, while others will get the G2. Same luck with the keyboard and LCD panel (even if it's LED backlit).

I'd be dissapointed if they send a G1 drive, it says it may take an additional 4 weeks for shipping if you choose this option. Waiting an extra month to receive an outdated drive is outrageous.

Well the G2 x18m just really started to become available. It was a soft launch for the longest time....

soft launch, not unlike the t410s itself... :)

All I can say is I can let you know what gen the drive I receive is, if they ever ship. But there isn't supposed to be a 4+ week delay on any part at the moment, they are all showing "9 business days". Obviously not true, but hopefully not totally off.

In the US site there is no delay but in the Canadian it says 4weeks :). When did you order btw? I ordered it yesterday.

As far as I know nobody received a T410s with X18-M yet, but at least one person was assured by the lenovo phone support that it is a G2 (Postville) drive.

So I guess there is a better than 50% chance that it is second-gen :)

I ordered (again) on 3/1, when it first said "9 bus. days". That would mean it would ship today ;) Instead the estimated ship date is 3/23. Personally, I don't believe it, but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised.

Hey all - i have been keeping up with this forum since I ordered my t410s back on 1/7. I just registered to respond to this thread.

I finally received my t410s yesterday, with 80GB SSD. In the device manager, it is listed as - INTEL SSDSA1MH080G1LE

Sorry but it looks like at least the initial batch of these laptops have the G1 drive. I was really hoping for the G2 drive myself, but I'm still very happy with the laptop overall.
